Quinn, please. Sure, you had a baby when you were 16 and you had a bad dye job for two weeks, but seriously? The world never stopped loving you.
So, like, this scene. This scene was not okay. Here he is creying over his former bully but here’s someone who is actually, somewhat, a friend and their problems are no big deal to him. I just can’t with this.
To Quinn, the world did stop loving her. Because it actually did. Yeah, she found friends in New Directions but the world shunned her. Her parents shunned her. And not only did the world stop loving her, she stopped loving herself. Hell, she never truly did. And that’s worse than having other people stop loving you because if you don’t love yourself, it’s just pointless.
And the fact that Kurt was presented as right in it is just appalling. Just because someone might have it worse, which is debatable, IMO. Did Karofsky or Kurt have it worse than Quinn? I don’t know, personally, I don’t think so. But just because someone might have it worse, it doesn’t mean what she was feeling wasn’t valid.
I hate hate hate that Kurt has become a mouthpiece for the writers to spout their bullshit about how white affluent gay males have it worse than anybody else. It feels like he spends most of his time getting teary eyed and lecturing people. I don’t even mind that I’m missing Kurt scenes now that I’m not watching, because I don’t like what his character has become.
What’s also awful is that Chris absolutely kills Kurt’s comedic scenes, and if the writers gave him more of that, he could definitely be beating the Modern Family guys in Best Actor in a Television Comedy Series.
