Folake’s Oscars Outfit – Jewel By Lisa Gown
Entirely by accident, this season’s Dolce & Gabbana turned out to be incredibly topical. Inspired by the Vatican and showing at Fashion Week just after the news broke about the Pope’s retirement, this collection was guaranteed to appear prominently on the pages of every fashion magazine in the known universe. The only thing better than tall thin ladies wearing sparkly clothes is tall thin ladies wearing sparkly clothes in a newsworthy context. — Dolce & Gabbana, Fall 2013

“I would never stoop so low as to be fashionable, that’s the easiest thing in the world to do.”
If a man, even a femme man—say, Wilde or Capote or whoever—said that, it’d be quoted constantly as a perfect summation of fashion and style and truth.
LISTEN TO DOLLY.
for self-reference as I go back to school and everyone is wearing the same goddamn short shorts and flowy tops and aldo shoes
did I miss a memo or something??
This is kind of my philosophy on how I look, but I also don’t care if other people do want to be conventionally fashionable. Sometimes I end up very fashionable, but it’s never my goal.
